PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Mycolor One-Step Mycoplasma Detector is a rapid detection product developed based on isothermal amplification technology for  mycoplasma contamination in cell cultures. It has the advantages of easy operation, intuitive results, high sensitivity, strong specificity and  anti-contamination. This product premixes enzymes with buffer to achieve one tube detection. After adding 1 μl of the cell culture  supernatant to the reaction system and incubated at 65°C for 1 h, the results can be determined by visual observation. If there is mycoplasma contamination in the cell culture, the reaction solution will change from purple-red to yellow after amplification and the color  contrast will be obvious. Meanwhile, the reagent introduces the anti-contamination system to avoid false positives caused by amplification  product aerosols and ensure accurate and reliable results. Mycolor One-Step Mycoplasma Detector can detect various mycoplasma,  including 8 strains commonly found in cell culture. This product has a wide range of adherent cell, suspension cell, media and serum  compatibility.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Detection principle

Q1: What is the detection principle of D201?

A1: The D201 is based on loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technology. The reagent is premixed with Bst isothermal amplification enzyme, primers for amplification-detection of Mycoplasma (a pair of inner primers, a pair of outer primers, etc.) and optimized buffer. Just add the template, and then begin the LAMP reaction. When the mycoplasma DNA fragment is amplified, the color of the reagent in the reaction tube changes from purple-red to yellow. Therefore, the negative result for D201 is purple-red, and the positive result is yellow.

    Sensitivity & Accuracy

Q2: What is the sensitivity of D201 (minimum detection limit)?

A2: As low as 100 copies/μl of Mycoplasma positive plasmid can be detected.

    Q3: How is accuracy ensured?

A3: The product includes a negative and positive control, through which the result can be judged as accurate. We have tested 40 kinds of mycoplasma, including 8 kinds of common mycoplasma contamination.

    Positive Control

Q4: Which mycoplasma sequence is the positive control in D201 based on?

A4: Positive control was plasmid containing M.hyorhinis sequence (concentration: 10 ng/μl)

Q5: Does the kit's positive control cause contamination?

A5: No, the positive control is mycogenic plasmid.
